Hi everyone,

This is a fairly major update. The main points are here:

Region aware encoding.
Inclusion of FFMPEG as the transcoder.
Simplified browsing.
Install wizard.
Security patch - Thanks to High-Tech Bridge Security Research Lab for their input.

If you are running 2.1.0.3557, this upgrade is strongly recommended.
If you are running 2.1.0.3880, it is recommended, but, not essential.

Ubuntu 12.10 users....

It seems that the packaging has changed between 12.04, and 12.10 and the Software Center will complain about the root credentials of TVMOBiLi. This happens with all versions, and not just the latest release. We are working on a solution but, it is safe to press continue when the alert pops up.

The alternative is to run Terminal and type in

sudi dpkg - i <tvmobili.deb> (replace tvmobili.deb with the actual name of the downloaded file.

Ah, yes, we made a bit of a mess with the symbolic links on the server yesterday and they accidentally pointed to the live versions. Corrected now : )

Hello I have a 8000 series samsung that keeps getting disconnected every couple of minutes. Any advice?

Yes, the new version uses all network cards on your machine to advertise it's location. On machines that are multi-homed (Wired and Wireless cards connected at the same time) this problem will occur. Try switching the wireless off and the problem should resolve itself.

FYI, with 3974 I couldn't login externally, either directly or via the TVmobili site.

TVmobili was responding on port 30888 and prompting for the username and password, but wouldn't accept it, after three attempts it gives an authentication error:-

Error: 401
Error processing request

That's with both an upgrade, and a remove-clean-fresh install. I've reverted back to 3557 and it's working fine again.

While I'm on, any chance you might ever fix the broken links for the icons? I know it's a fairly minor thing, but they've been broken for ages and make it look really crap. Attempting to access the broken links may also explain why the interface is so sluggish when accessed externally

Here's one example, but the same issue appears regularly through the interface:-

External broken link for "My Content" icon- http://WANIP.WANIP.WANIP.WANIP:0/__artw ... TVMOBiLi/8

Internal working link for "My Content" icon- http://10.1.2.250:30888/__artwork/b81eb ... TVMOBiLi/8

As the links show, the TCP port is incorrect when accessed externally, "0" instead of "30888".



Manually browsing to the link with port "30888" added produces the icon, so it's the link generation that's broken.

Hi Ray Von,

I am fairly sure that this is now resolvable in 3974, but, we have found an issue with the security as you point out and this will be fixed in our new build, hopefully today. Then, when the new build is ready, open the TVMOBiLi config file and put the following setting in:

ExternalPort=xxxxx

Where xxxxx is the WAN port that you have opened on your router. Restart, and all should be good.
